Important notice! This website is currently undergoing a major update! There are some family groups that you will find missing at the moment, and for that I apologize. I hope to be finished with this update by sometime this fall. We seem to be going through some growing pains ... we've outgrown our old home and are still trying to work out a reasonable solution to the problem! Please bear with us as we work it all out!
If you came here looking for Bjorkgren, please check my Bjorkgren page! If you need Anderson, Barnhisel, Murray, Steidtmann, Wells, Davis, or other associated families please check back soon. As I get these families loaded I will update the links. The good news is, the Acadian/Cajun side of the family is completed! Well, not really cher, but you know what I mean ;-) I just need to add a few pictures, which will happen at a later date.
SEARCHABLE DATABASE ... We will gladly trade information if you think we have some common ground. Starting with the "Surnames" button, you can just click your way through the related families, then e-mail me if you find a match! Or if you are looking for a name in particular, you can start with the "Persons" button. Be sure to check variant spellings of the names you are looking for (such as Rivet and Rivette).
In the interest of privacy, most information on persons still living and their immediate families has been removed from the index. A limited amount of information is left in for births that occurred longer than 70 years ago, which is about what would be available on the U.S. census. (If you should happen to find any exceptions to this statement, PLEASE let me know about it!) With that caveat in mind, this database contains all available information, including:
This database includes some biographical detail and research notes, mostly available in families accessed using the "Research" button at the top of this page. (Click here if you don't see any buttons above.) However, if you find a match or possible match, I will be happy to trade information or GEDCOM files!
One of the improvements that I've made to this website is that each family group is now on its own page, and each page includes more information for each person. This will make it easier for you to print exactly the information you are interested in. To print a page, use your mouse to click on a blank spot within the family group area, then select your print button. Check printer properties to make sure it is set up for "Portrait" printing.
Many thanks to Gene Stark's GED2HTML utility, which continues to get better with every release! This version allowed me to customize the pages to look more like a standard family group page.
Please note: If you do not have the navigation
bars at the top of this page, you can get them back by
clicking here!
You can also
to break out of another site's frames!
If you find that the banners and buttons at the top of the page are
taking up most of the page, you can try navigating this site without
them by clicking here. That should
break you out of the frames and free up the space for text. Better yet,
if your monitor can handle it, this site works best at resolutions of
800x600 or 1024x768. A resolution of 640x480 will cause the graphics to
take up too much of the page.
If you would rather not use the buttons to navigate, you can use these
